If your toilet won't flush, you can often use a plunger to push any blockages through the system. Push the plunger over the drain and be sure to create suction with the lip. Then, push the handle up and down repeatedly.
Lift after several pumps to see whether the water drains on its own. If it doesn't, repeat the process. Be careful not to flush while performing this maneuver, as you could cause the water to overflow the toilet basin.
If you don't have hot water, locate your heating tank and check the control panel. Attempt to modify the settings if anything seems amiss. If you have a gas water heater, check that the pilot light is lit.
If you do make any changes, wait at least 20 minutes before testing the water temperature again. This will give the heater adequate time to heat.
If the climate control system in your property doesn't seem to be working, check the settings on your thermostat. It's surprisingly easy to change the settings accidentally, which may cause the system to turn off.
Attempt to cycle your HVAC system to resolve the problem.
